Secrets of an Arts Administrator

Secrets of an Arts Administrator is a weekly blog post written by BAC's Executive Director Leigh Anne Chambers.

Topic: Get on it!!

This blog post is targeted towards all the artists out there who are sitting at home waiting for an opportunity.  I have some bad won't find an opportunity by waiting.

Anyone who knows me also knows that I am all of the following bossy, nosey, and deeply caring.  When these three are combined (along with a title that makes me feel like its my job) the preaching begins.  Today is one of those days.

Get on it.  Opportunity isn't just knocking its banging down your door (at least at your computer).  So today I would like to give some links to some amazing sites that list opportunities for artists and tell you briefly about an opportunity that BAC is offering.

First the links

Bossier Arts Council's Newest Opportunity

The Bossier Arts Council (BAC) is excited to announce that they are looking for digital artists and designers to participate in their upcoming event DigiFest.  The event which will be held September 7-9th at the Bossier Civic Center (620 Benton Rd.) is aimed at demonstrating how art combined with technology leads to the innovations that shape our modern way of life and the direct contribution to strong economic development and cultural transformations.

This call is for any artist, artisan, or designer who utilizes technology in creating art.  This includes but is not limited to graphic design, digital photography, film, animation, and music.

Artists can participate in two ways by entering our Digital Art Competition and applying to be a Vendor.  Both events will have limited enrollment and all artists are asked to apply before July 31st.  Those interested can learn more information at or by calling BAC’s offices at 741-8310.
