Each student is asked to create their own, original artwork showcasing themselves or their interests. This freedom of expression instills confidence within the students. Robin Jones, Education Coordinator, of the BAC states, "Displaying students work lets them know you value it -- and them."The show features Bossier Parish students from K-12th grade.
The accepted media includes drawing, paint, collage, print, graphic art, along with digital and traditional photography. All media 2-D and 3-D art, are accepted given that they are not of inappropriate material. All submitted work must be ready for display, including framing being wired, and label with the information.
An opening reception will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd, with an opening award ceremony at 7:30pm. Thanks in part to an Arts 4 Moore Grant and a generous contribution from Bossier Parish Community College BAC will award $1500 in prizes and art supplies. "This is a project that the Bossier Arts Council believes in and will continue to support the kids in our area, by providing the gallery space and by recognizing their talents. " stated by Jones.The pieces will hang in the gallery all through December and January.
