"The Little Brush that Could"-Week 4

Painting or creating art projects with kids (especially the little ones) can get very messy. One way to protect their clothing from permanant stains is to make an artist smock. This is a very simple project that you can fairly quickly.

You will need:

  •  a new shirt or you can "upcycle" an old t-shirt. 1-2 sizes larger than your child
  • scissors
  • sewing machine
  • Paint (optional)
1.) Cut the shirt straight up the middle of the back and through the neckline.
and then cut off the bottom hem from the shirt and cut into two 12 inch strips.

2.) sew the edges of your strips to the edges of each side of the shirt.

Have your child decorate the t-shirt in any style or leave blank and see what fun "accidents" happen.
